Description Kevin Kofler 2014-11-18 23:21:41 UTC
Description of problem:
QtMobility Multimedia supports only GStreamer 0.10. For the Qt 5 version, upstream now has a GStreamer 1 port in a branch. It is unlikely that upstream will make a Qt 4 backport, so we will have to do it. The rest of the Qt stack already moved to GStreamer 1 in Fedora 21.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
qt-mobility-1.2.2-0.17.20140317git169da60c.fc21

So, after some discussion, we decided that this is probably not worth our time. There is only one (remaining) user of qt-mobility-multimediakit in Fedora, qutim, which is already ported to Qt 5 upstream. So why invest time in porting the old Qt 4 qt-mobility-multimediakit to GStreamer 1? We should just get qutim upgraded to the Qt 5 version, then we can drop qt-mobility-multimediakit entirely, or just leave it built against GStreamer 0.10 (which won't matter if nothing uses it).
