From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040124

Description of problem:
X is much slower than it was under fedora core 1 or original test 1.
mozilla very sluggish, click selects very slow to draw (when you click
and drag on the desktop)

Only obvious change, apart from updating from rawhide, is I added this
[stephen@paris stephen]$ more /etc/cpuspeed.conf
VMAJOR=1
VMINOR=1
DRIVER="p4-clockmod"
OPTS="-a /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/*/state -t
/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/*/temperature 75"

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
XFree86-4.3.0-59

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start x
2.
3.

Actual Results:  slow performance

Expected Results:  snappy performance

Nothing seems wrong with log file, attached so you can see I have a radeon
m7500

I also have the agpgart and radeon kernel modules loaded

Indeed, the 'obvious' change, is that you have ran software that
slows the CPU down intentionally. It is no surprise whatsoever
that X will be slower. The entire system will be slower. Disable
the cpuspeed software entirely, reboot, and your system wont be
slower.
