It would be nice to see this package in the EPEL 7 repository.

I managed to get gitg-0.2.7-2.fc20 to compile on EL7. Here are the instructions for anybody interested:

* Download the src rpm

https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/gitg/0.2.7/2.fc20/src/gitg-0.2.7-2.fc20.src.rpm

* Install the build dependencies:

sudo yum-builddep gitg-0.2.7-2.fc20.src.rpm

* Run the build:

rpmbuild --rebuild gitg-0.2.7-2.fc20.src.rpm

* Install the rpms:

sudo yum localinstall ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64/*.rpm

Hi Ben,

I'm not sure about Ignacio, but I don't have an EL system at all and therefore would not like to manage an EL branch. You can apply as a co-maintainer yourself and maintain the branch, of course :)

The definitely understandable. 0.2.7 is the latest version that can be compiled with the EL7 libraries so there will be no updates so I'm ok with just using my custom rebuild. Feel free to close the bug if Ignacio is also not interested in making the EPEL7 build. Thanks for your help!

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 22 development cycle.
Changing version to '22'.

gitg is now in epel so I'm closing this bug.
