We've observed reports of MariaDB-Galera hangups (within individual nodes, causing the node to need to be taken offline) with version 5.5.40.  The hangups appear due to an issue identified in MariaDB itself and is introduced in MariaDB 5.5.40; the developers have posted a fix and targeted it for MariaDB 5.5.41.

Users of MariaDB 5.5.40 with or without Galera may observe sporadic, random lockups of the database server over the course of days.
