Description Jason Montleon 2014-12-10 21:16:12 UTC
Description of problem:
on a clean installation, web UI sessions are reset after every single request.

This appears to be caused by an idle_timeout set to zero.

As a workaround, go to Administer > Settings > General and set idle_timeout to 60 or similar.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rpm -q foreman katello-installer katello
foreman-1.7.0.0-1.2.el6_6sat.noarch
katello-installer-2.1.1-1.el6_6sat.noarch
katello-2.1.0-1.el6_6sat.noarch

How reproducible:
One el6 smoketest host so far

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install RHEL 6.6
2. yum -y install katello
3. katello-installer

Actual results:
Attempting to log in results in repeated Session Expired messages.

Expected results:
Installation completes successfully and user is able to log in

Additional info:
Issues did not present themselves on the RHEL 7 smoketest host.

rebased to Foreman 1.7.1 and this issue did not occur

Comment 5 Kedar Bidarkar 2015-02-13 07:26:56 UTC
On sat6.1 Beta-snap2 the idle_timeout is now set to 60 secs by default.

Also no Session Expired messages are seen.
