razorqt no longer supported and lxqt not ready yet ...?

the crash happens also with lxqt-session-0.8.0-6.fc21

Comment 13 Helio Chissini de Castro 2015-01-06 14:34:05 UTC
We're trying to map what application is causing this issue.
Simple install with lxqt only in system not produce same crash, so is related, probably, to some qt/kde extra library acting as a middle man.

Would be possible to attach your output of rpm -qa, if you feel comfortable in tell what is installed ?

Best regards, Helio

see the attachment - it is minimal install with only lxqt*, sddm and some xorg-x11-drv stuff added

In my case it was a clean install from the fc21 JAM spin plus latest updates plus lxqt desktop.

This info is for reference only - I have switched to KXStudio as it is impossible to use firewire audio devices with fedoora (see bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1178514)

Comment 17 Raphael Groner 2015-01-30 20:23:54 UTC
I can not reproduce. What login manager do you use?

lightdm-1.10.4-1.fc21.x86_64
lxqt-session-0.8.0-6.fc21.x86_64

I have sddm

but I cannot reproduce the issue any more after some updates ...

Comment 19 Jan Sedlák 2015-02-12 09:40:12 UTC
I don't know if it's the same problem, but installing LXQT desktop from Fedora Rawhide iso (rawhide-20150210) from Anaconda results in the same behaviour. After boot, I am presented with login screen, but entering my login and password drops me into login screen again. journalctl shows that lxqt-session sigsegved. I am unable to use ABRT, because it shows error during reporting. I will attach whole ABRT directory.

I am using:
lxqt-session-0.9.0-2.fc22.x86_64
sddm-0.10.0-4.fc22.x86_64

Qt is suffering some issues on newly introduced gcc5
We're trying to look after, but affected KDE Plasma 5 and possibly most of Qt based applications.

Still under investigation

Comment 26 Fedora End Of Life 2015-11-04 16:00:12 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 21 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 21. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '21'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 21 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 27 Fedora End Of Life 2015-12-02 06:23:14 UTC
Fedora 21 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-12-01. Fedora 21 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
