Description of problem:

The Terminal does not have a launcher on the default panel. In older
RedHat releases, it was always easy to find the terminal.  Now you
have to search through the menus.  It's not even under "Accessories",
where you would expect it, it's hidden under "System Tools".

I know it's simpler to do a "/sbin/ifup eth0" than to search for
"Network Device Control" in the menu.  How am I to teach this wisdom
to the next generation of unix users if they don't even know that
there IS a terminal?

I think the idea is that the next generation of unix users won't need
to use a terminal :-)

Seriously, it was removed from the default RH panel long before my
time but I assume the change was made under the premise that the vast
majority of desktop users don't need to use a panel. For the ones that
do it is relatively straightforward to drag the launcher from the menu
onto the panel or setup up some other similar custom shortcut.
