I think the idea is that the next generation of unix users won't need to use a terminal :-) Seriously, it was removed from the default RH panel long before my time but I assume the change was made under the premise that the vast majority of desktop users don't need to use a panel. For the ones that do it is relatively straightforward to drag the launcher from the menu onto the panel or setup up some other similar custom shortcut. |
