Description Prasad Mukhedkar 2015-01-09 22:13:48 UTC
Description of problem:

On newly deployed cloudforms 3.1 appliance. I added my vmware and rhev providers. Its been now more than 30 days but still bottleneck page says "No Records found for this timeline"

Checking further it appears that all my hosts and datastores have full utilization data and reports can be generated to show that data but no bottleneck data is generated. Are there any requirements for bottleneck reports to work for hosts, clusters, datastores? If yes, Can we have this documented.

We need a clear documentation stating : How many days c & u data is required
to project bottleneck summary for hosts and datastoares and are there any prerequisite to get bottleneck reports. If yes, what are they and how to make sure they are configured properly.

Assigning to Shikha for review.

Comment 3 Shikha 2016-01-25 05:23:20 UTC
Hi Andrew,
I investigated this bug and for bottlenecks to work successfully, C&U reports have to be enabled in both CFME and the backend provider. Additionally, a user has to wait for at least 24 hours for the data to be collected before they can view it.
Reference: http://talk.manageiq.org/t/rhev-cpu-and-memory-reporting-issue/228/7

I have added a 'Prerequisites' paragraph in the Bottlenecks section linking it to appropriate sections for enabling the data collection on CFME and relevant providers.
I have also provided a Note in this section about the expected time for report generation.

Hi Shikha,

Thank you for the update.

Assigning Dayle as the QA contact, and updating the flags to match the current target release.

Dayle - would you be able to take a look at the changes for this bug?

Kind regards,

Andrew
