Description Andrew Olney 2015-01-16 16:59:50 UTC
Description of problem:

Using spice the mouse does not lag when windowed, but then begins to lag noticably about 1-2 seconds after entering full screen. Problem exist with both latest unstable packages and latest builds of virt-manager and virt-viewer.

Lag increase in fullscreen seems to also occur in VNC mode though is less noticeable. Using Win 8.1 Enterprise guest with drivers from virtio-win-0.1-94.iso

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Using above configuration
2. Launch guest
3. Go to fullscreen

Actual results:

Mouse pointer lags/skips behind actual movement

Expected results:

Mouse pointer smoothly moves to track actual movement

I can confirm I've noticed this behaviour too, though I've only tested SPICE so far, not confirmed VNC myself. It is really bizarre as I can't think of what's different about either mouse handling or rendering when full screen vs fully maximised, but still with title bar visible.

I have the same problem using remote-viewer and virt-viewer

I run windows 7 as VM. and I use arch linux as Host OS
After a few test i find out also the screen refresh rate is also decreses so i guess it might due to connection speed (may or may not)

If you need any more info please inform me

Regards
Bijan

I have not subsequently noticed this behaviour and given that we have no idea where any problem might lie in this scenario, it is unlikely this issue will be investigated further, thus I will now close it.
