Description Kedar Bidarkar 2015-01-23 11:55:31 UTC
Description of problem:

Currently unable to set Account Username to $login with Active Directory.

Also tried couple of other things:
For example:
1) $login
2) <DOMAIN>/$login ( i.e KATELLOLABS/$login)
3) sAMAccountName=$login,CN=Users,DC=katellolabs,DC=org

But none of the above works.

currently adding/specifying a user "foobar/example@123" works.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
nightly

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. try creating ldap auth using Active Directory
2. Under Account, upon trying to add $login to "Account Username"
3.

Actual results:
Could only specify a single username, but not $login or 1) , 2) , 3) as mentioned in the description. please refer the description.

Expected results:
Should be able to specify as mentioned, like <DOMAIN>/$login for any user without password.

Created redmine issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/10142 from this bug

Comment 4 Kedar Bidarkar 2016-04-11 09:01:18 UTC
If $login is deprecated and a dedicated user foreman is now required, then this can be closed with "NOT A BUG".
