Description Richard W.M. Jones 2015-01-28 17:11:40 UTC
Description of problem:

virt-v2v in RHEL 7.1 ships with RHEV-Application_Provisioning_Tool_46267.exe

There are new versions of this tool and it should be updated
to whatever is the latest version.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

libguestfs-1.28.1-1.18.el7

How reproducible:

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install 'virt-v2v'.
2. Examine '/usr/share/virt-tools/rhev-apt.exe'

Actual results:

The current MD5 sum of that file is
d4deaa3ada5aab7c4c2a62832ac819b9
which corresponds to:
RHEV-Application_Provisioning_Tool_46267.exe

Expected results:

Whatever the latest version is.

Hi Richard,

The RHEV-Apt installer is generally available on the RHEV WGT ISO.
https://brewweb.devel.redhat.com/buildinfo?buildID=404915

You can get the latest version also directly from the currently latest RHEV-Apt build for RHEV 3.5 from:
http://download.devel.redhat.com/brewroot/packages/rhev-apt/4.12/1/win/RHEV-Application%20Provisioning%20Tool.exe

and for RHEV 3.4 it's here:
http://download.devel.redhat.com/brewroot/packages/rhev-apt/4.11/1/win/RHEV-Application%20Provisioning%20Tool.exe

About the command line options - it shouldn't matter much, as if the installer runs in a silent way for you even with a space between /v and /qn then it's OK.
BTW you can run the tool with the /? option to get the command line options of the RHEV-APT installer.

Thanks in advance,
Lev Veyde.

I can reproduce this bug with:
virt-v2v-1.28.1-1.18.el7.x86_64
libguestfs-1.28.1-1.18.el7.x86_64

Steps:
Check the md5 of rhev-apt.exe.
# md5sum /usr/share/virt-tools/rhev-apt.exe
d4deaa3ada5aab7c4c2a62832ac819b9 rhev-apt.exe

Tested with:
virt-v2v-1.28.1-1.28.el7.x86_64
libguestfs-1.28.1-1.28.el7.x86_64

# md5sum /usr/share/virt-tools/rhev-apt.exe
241403e2063b4ca64a93240579c3e1e6 /usr/share/virt-tools/rhev-apt.exe

Download the latest RHEV-Apt build for RHEV 3.5 from:
http://download.devel.redhat.com/brewroot/packages/rhev-apt/4.12/1/win/RHEV-Application%20Provisioning%20Tool.exe

# md5sum RHEV-Application\ Provisioning\ Tool.exe
241403e2063b4ca64a93240579c3e1e6 RHEV-Application Provisioning Tool.exe

The current MD5 sum of that file is the same with the latest RHEV-Apt build,so move the bug to VERIFIED.
