Description of problem:
On machine with Sis chipset (Sis 645xx northbridge)
1) The integrated Sis900 ethernet simply doesn't work (it is
supposed to be supported
2) From time to time the kernel does not see the IDE CD reader
at boot time, same thing for the USB bridge

Machine works flawlessly with XP

How reproducible:
Ethernet problem (ever)
CD problem (sporadic)

Expected results:
A working ethernet, a reliable detection of IDE and USB peripherals

The box has a Sis963 chipset and it is not properly identified by the
2.4 kernel.  I suspect that the problem is the chipset.

You might try booting with "acpi=off" ?

Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of
the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem
persists.

The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases,
