Description Pavel Raiskup 2015-02-09 14:09:57 UTC
In RHEL 7, we have an alpha version xz-5.1.2alpha. Upstream released xz-5.2.0
(stable) in December 2014. I've done exactly this update in Fedora recently
and there seem to be no issues so far (see the bug #1023718 for more info, abi
compatibility analysis, etc).

Probably we could rebase xz also in RHEL7, there have been quite a few bugs
fixed and new features added. Without big risk, RHEL7 could benefit from
having stable (non pre-release) version of xz.
