Unsuccessfule X server startup with new kernel
I have noticed some additional things 1. The problem does not surface when warm-booting after the 2115 kernel, only when cold-booting to 2174. 2. I have installed this package to work around the problem:http://projects.nudieman.com/500m/845patch-0.3-2.i386.rpm I had to turn off rhgb, as the machine froze during booting with it, but with rhgb off, and the above patch, the system seems to work reliably with the 2174 kernel. Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
