Description Flags
stacktrace that occurs when the "System Profile" window does not update none

Description Jeremy Handcock 2004-04-01 15:40:00 UTC
Description of problem: The System Profile view doesn't always update
to show new sample data after clicking on the "Stop Collecting
Profiling Data" button. I can still properly save the Default session
(as evidenced by looking in /var/lib/oprofile/samples), but the view
doesn't properly refresh. If I restart eclipse, then click on one of
the events in the System Profile view's menu tab, the view refreshes
itself and displays the samples properly.

How reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce: I haven't yet been able identify exact steps to
reproduce this, but I've seen it occur on a number of occasions.

faltaous and rmoseley confirmed this behavior.

Comment 2 Rick Moseley 2004-04-01 16:24:15 UTC
I have created an attachment for the report of a backtrace that occurs
when the "System Profile" window does not update.

Comment 3 Keith Seitz 2004-08-19 19:31:35 UTC
I think I have something on this... When the System Profile view
refreshes itself, it does not properly dispose any data from previous
sessions.

I noticed that when I did this, the list of images in the System
Profile view did not appear to change, when, in fact, it did: The new
data was appended to the END of the old!

At the very least, it should dump everything and start over. Not very
nice, but better than the "lies" it has been telling. I'll work on a
patch.
