Same for me. Additionnal info: this is not only a Ctrl+C problem, copy from the Edit->Copy menu doesn't work as well.

This is reproducible on all web sites I've tried with.

Comment 2 Luca 2015-06-01 08:33:00 UTC
I confirm the error.

Notice that coping inside the same window, works. Following the example from 123, Copying something in Firefox and pasting in it works, but pasting to the Terminal window does not work. Copying something in the Terminal window and pasting in it works, but pasting to Firefox does not work.

Notice that this bug occurs between any window/application, it is not limited between Firefox and Terminal.

I'm having the same problem.

THIS WORKS
* Copy and paste URL from Chrome to Geany
* Copy and paste URL from Firefox to Geany

THIS DOES NOT WORK
* Paste to gedit
* Paste to terminal

SEVERITY: High - this makes using bash impossible

ENVIRONMENT: Fedora 22, Gnome on Wayland

HYPOTHESIS: Wayland not allowing paste

Comment 4 tonydiep 2015-06-05 11:11:38 UTC
HYPOTHESIS: Wayland not allowing paste -CONFIRMED

HOW I TESTED: Switched back to default Gnome session (which is is Gnome on X) and pasting to gedit and terminal worked ... so the issues is Wayland works as designed which is to prevent different windows from exposing its data to each other ... but there was supposed to be a feature to allow a clipboard.

WORKAROUND - use X instead of Wayland until clipboard works :(

Similar or same issue under wayland:

Copy/Paste from firefox to gedit or terminal doesn't work
Copy/Paste from terminal or gedit to firefox doesn't work

Comment 6 Henrique Martins 2015-06-28 15:12:33 UTC
Is this limited to wayland? I'm running Xorg and cut'ing from firefox and pasting works within the same screen, but pasting to another screen doesn't work.

Cursor starts spinning and eventually goes back to normal. On emacs *messages* buffer I have this error message:
  x-get-selection: Timed out waiting for reply from selection owner.

Only wayland stuff I have is:
  ibus-wayland-1.5.10-5.fc22.x86_64
  libwayland-client-1.7.0-1.fc22.x86_64
  libwayland-cursor-1.7.0-1.fc22.x86_64
  libwayland-server-1.7.0-1.fc22.x86_64
  mesa-libwayland-egl-10.6.0-1.fc22.x86_64

I'll open another ticket though.

Comment 7 tonydiep 2015-06-28 15:58:31 UTC
Henrique, I think that might be a different issue.

I think we proved this was specific to Wayland by testing the procedure under Wayland and X. It fails on Wayland and passes on X.
