Description Martin Kosek 2015-03-22 17:11:36 UTC
This bug is created as a clone of upstream ticket:
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/4866

FreeIPA supports trusts with AD (in AD -> IPA direction, the other direction will be ready when https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3125 is closed).

While AD support covers the many of the environments, some users may choose to deploy Samba 4 DC instead of the AD. FreeIPA should support trust with Samba 4 DC as well, when available.

Comment 2 Petr Vobornik 2017-04-06 15:59:01 UTC
IdM team doesn't have capacity to implement this RFE for RHEL 7.4. Moving to next RHEL version. Implementing the RFE there will depend on capacity of FreeIPA upstream. Without sufficient justification there is a chance that it will be moved again later.

Hello,

There are no plans to introduce Samba AD DC into Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
The corresponding RFE has been closed.
As a follow up to that providing a trust with Samba AD is also out of scope too and thus this bug is being closed.

The upstream ticket will stay open. External contributions and partner inquiries are welcome.

Thank you,
Dmitri
