Description of problem:
Bug 533911 back ported Upstream 4.5 Component interface, to avoid changing the API in minor release the  existing RH extension was left in place. It needs to be removed when we upgrade. 

The API will change to some extent, sufficient notification needs to be provided for users on the exact changes.

We'll need to preserve our custom component.get function.

We should try to send it upstream.

In preparation for entering maintenance mode we are closing bugs that were opened by the Bugzilla Team aimed at reducing technical debt.
