GDB cannot currently fully debug multithreaded applications in other containers without having the gdb-gdbserver package installed in the target application's container.  This cannot be remedied in GDB alone, the solution will require glibc changes.

Please add the gdb-gdbserver package to all container base images until such time as GDB and glibc can be updated to fully support attaching to multithreaded applications from other containers.
