Previously, the hdp 2.1 stack was hard-coded and hence only the hdp 2.1 stack was visible. With this fix, all "glusterfs enabled" hdp stacks will be visible in the Ambari installation wizard.

Description Jeff Vance 2015-05-01 22:01:39 UTC
Description of problem:
Currently only the HDP 2.1 GlusterFS stack is enabled in the /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/2.1.GlusterFS/metainfo.xml file. Instead, active should be set to true in all ...HDP/*.GlusterFS/metainfo.xml files.

Setting PM ack for Sayan as requested via email

Comment 4 Martin Bukatovic 2015-05-07 13:18:43 UTC
This change will enable all stacks including those we do not support
(eg. 2.0.6Glusterfs or 2.2GlusterFS). Is this acceptable? If yes, we
should stress out this in the docs for our customers not to select
unsupported stack (which could create problems for our support later).
If not we would need to enable only stacks we actually support.

Comment 5 Jeff Vance 2015-05-07 14:45:03 UTC
Re comment #4. This is correct if the /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/2.1.GlusterFS/* stack is present on the customer's ambari server.

Comment 7 Jeff Vance 2015-07-06 22:10:27 UTC
It is probably a good idea to mention this in the documentation if we expect older/unsupported stacks to be present on the customer's machine.

Comment 8 Daniel Horák 2015-07-08 08:07:32 UTC
Tested and verified on rhs-hadoop-install-2_54-1.el6rhs.noarch.
