Description of problem:
npm fails to authenticate in order to push new/updated packages

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
npm version 1.3.6

How reproducible:
Try to login to npm on the command line

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run "npm login" or "npm adduser"
2. Enter username/password and email address that correspond to npmjs.org account
3. crash

Actual results:

Latest version of npm seams to work properly (2.9.1)
