Description Fred van Zwieten 2015-05-12 20:04:52 UTC
Description of problem:
The problem is that the default value localhost breaks the auto-detection logic inside nsupdate. This prevents smart-proxy from updating records on multiple DNS servers.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have primary zones on multiple DNS servers
2. Configure DNS on sat6 on embedded capsule
3. Use DNS capsule for domains whose primary zones are on different DNS servers
4. Enable debug logging on proxy
5. config hosts for each zone

Actual results:
update DNS zones who's primary zone are on other dns servers than configured for DNS capsule fail.

Expected results:
normal behavior for nsupdate. From the man page:
Sends all dynamic update requests to the name server servername. When no server statement is provided, nsupdate will send updates to the master server of the correct zone. The MNAME field of that zone's SOA record will identify the master server for that zone. port is the port number on servername where the dynamic update requests get sent. If no port number is specified, the default DNS port number of 53 is used.

This is an older bug which has been reported upstream. We are not going to track this bug downstream. When the upstream issue is resolved, the next build will contain the fix. Thank you.
