Description Jeff Vance 2015-05-13 19:17:39 UTC
Description of problem:
Current perms on .../hive/warehouse are 0755 which does not allow users of the group 'hadoop' to write hive data. The perms need to be changed to 0775.

Tested with rhs-hadoop-install-2_54-1.el6rhs.noarch and it works. -->VERIFIED

Comment 5 Jeff Vance 2015-07-06 22:08:04 UTC
I don't see in the RHS 3.0 Intallation Guide, Ch 8 (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Storage/3/html/Installation_Guide/chap-Deploying_the_Hortonworks_Data_Platform_2.1_on_Red_Hat_Storage.html#Red_Hat_Storage_Server_Requirements) permissions mentioned. If the current RHS 3.1 Intall Guide also does not discuss permissions then I think there is no reason to single out the hive/ directory.
