This issue needs to be addressed.  It has been fixed in the 1.5.x version in base, we need the 2.0 in EPEL patched as well. Upstream patch is here http://git.qemu.org/?p=qemu.git;a=commit;h=e907746266721f305d67bc0718795fedee2e824c
