Description Yanko Kaneti 2015-05-18 13:42:07 UTC
Description of problem:
In rawhide gnome-photos which uses gegl deadlocks here on startup while loading up gegl which in turn loads up OpenCL.

Please consider disabling opencl support in gegl until the underlying ocl-icd issue is resolved or the dynamic loader in glibc becomes more forgiving of such arrangements.

Comment 1 Yanko Kaneti 2015-05-18 14:25:13 UTC
One way to avoid the deadlock of course is to uninstall ocl-icd, which isn't a hard requirement for gegl03

Comment 2 Debarshi Ray 2015-06-18 04:46:09 UTC
My understanding from bug 1219646 is that ocl-icd is fixed, but there could be some issue in mesa itself.

Out of curiosity, which OpenCL implementation is this? eg., the free Intel graphics stack doesn't support OpenCL, but nouveau and radeon does as far as I know. It might be relevant.

Comment 3 Yanko Kaneti 2015-06-18 06:28:38 UTC
Its a glibc issue (not yet fixed in my understanding) and is tracked in bug 1223055

Ok.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 23 development cycle.
Changing version to '23'.

(As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 23 development
cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 23 End Of Life. Thank you.)

Comment 6 Yanko Kaneti 2015-08-12 12:24:43 UTC
So as the glibc report says this should be fixed now in rawhide and f23.. hanve't had a chance to test yet.
