Description Fabrice Bellet 2015-06-30 20:46:30 UTC
Logwatch contains several scripts that now output deprecation warning since perl-5.22 is in rawhide: "Unescaped left brace in regex is deprecated, passed through in regex"

- /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/services/amavis, line 2286
- /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/services/postfix line 1850
- /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/services/secure line 509, 518

Comment 1 Jan Kurik 2015-07-15 13:52:44 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 23 development cycle.
Changing version to '23'.

(As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 23 development
cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 23 End Of Life. Thank you.)

Comment 6 Göran Uddeborg 2015-08-18 13:20:23 UTC
7.4.1-4.20150731svn293.fc23 still gives such a warning about /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/services/http. (The original description didn't mention that script. Do you want a separate bugzilla about it?)

Unescaped left brace in regex is deprecated, passed through in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/\G%{ <-- HERE Referer}i/ at /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/services/http line 313.

No need, I'll fix it in this one. Thanks for catching that!

Any progress on moving this from updates-testing to updates? It's been a couple months, and Fedora 23 is officially released now. I expect anyone who updated and is using logwatch will run into this issue, as I just did.

Me too. If you're happy with the update, you can give it karma. Once karma gets to +3, the update will automatically go to stable on the next push.

Why this hasn't been pushed to testing/stable earlier escapes me... Sorry for that, I haven't noticed.
