i've faced (and reported) a similar problem with my Compaq Pressario 1700T Laptop's CD-drive. it's true for both USB connected CD-Drive (a Mitsumi CD- Writer i have), a PCMCIA CD-Drive, and the inbuilt FutureBay Drive (an LG8080B drive, actually an 8xDVD drive). the thing is in my case, whether the CD is ISO9660 or any other format, it hangs for (with kernel generating sys log messages, block read failed or something)... for any file greater than about 18MB... this is true for both original CD's and for CD's burnt by me. my sys configuration is PIII 1.1GHz, 128MB RAM and using RH7.2 base version (i.e. without any upgrades). the bug# 58151 corresponds to the problem i reported and talked about in my last post. my guess is they are related to this problem. Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem persists. The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases, and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/ |
