Description Joel C Ewing 2015-07-29 15:37:06 UTC
Description of problem:
If changes have been made to a document and not yet saved, a close of gedit displays a window "Save change to document ... before closing?" with options of "Close without saving", "Cancel", or "Save". Selecting "Save" provides for saving, but then returns to edit session for document instead of closing after the save, requiring a separate close request to terminate.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gedit.x86_64 2:3.16.2-1.fc22

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. gedit a document
2. make some changes without saving
3. Request close of gedit
4. Respond "Save" to action to be done for unsaved document

Actual results:
gedit returns to edit session on document after saving

Expected results:
Document should be closed after save.

Additional info:
This is the way gedit used to work prior to f22 and the convention that seems to be consistently followed by all other editing apps. If your intent was to continue editing the document and you requested "close" by accident, the ony response to the "Save changes ..." query screen that is appropriate is "Cancel". The other possible responses should both close the document, either without or with saving, as requested.
