In the previous version of CloudForms Management Engine, creating a virtual machine snapshot on a VMWare provider from the web user interface failed with a parsing error. This was because the CFME snapshot code did not handle VMWare requests correctly. This bug was fixed by adding snapshot capability to the VMware specific class and exposing its parameters to automate methods. Users are able to create virtual machine snapshots on VMWare correctly in the new version of CloudForms Management Engine.

An automate method has been provided by the customer. Steps to recreate the issue (1) Add a new Automate Method, and copy the customers script into it. (2) From the Automate -> Simulate window run the Automate Method and pass in a VM as one of the parameters. (3) In the old version the Method should fail with the SoapFault like the customer reported (4) Apply the fix and now when you run the Automate Method we should see a successful creation of the snapshot. With the existing version the CFME UI can create a snapshot but when you try to create the snapshot via Automate Method it fails. Verified in 5.4.2.0 Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
