Description Alois Mahdal 2015-08-10 23:49:55 UTC
Description of problem
======================

There are apparent typos in grub2 configuration examples in system/yaboot
and system/uefi contents:

    UB_TIMEOUT=5
    GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="$(sed 's, release .*$,,g' /etc/system-release)"
    GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
    GRUB_DISABLE_SUBMENU=true
    ...

Both texts contain the same typo: name of `GRUB_TIMEOUT` variable being
truncated by 2 chars.

Version-Release number of selected component
============================================

preupgrade-assistant-contents-0.6.32-4.el6.noarch

How reproducible
================

Always

Steps to Reproduce
==================

 1. Get a ppc64 or an UEFI machine

 2. Run preupg

 3. Find respective content texts

Actual results
==============

`UB_TIMEOUT`, can be seen in both examples

Expected results
================

Examples use valid grub2 variables such as `GRUB_TIMEOUT`

Comment 6 Alois Mahdal 2015-08-12 17:08:56 UTC
We agreed to change scope a bit:

 * GRUB_TIMEOUT typo has been fixed in yaboot content--as was meant
    originally, but fix of the UEFI content has been postponed (so that
    we don't need docs now--only yaboot part is affected, which is not
    related to an officially supported arch),

 * the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX line has been changed to something more
    useful,

 * although comment has been added to notify user that they will need
    to rewrite the line anyway.

Comment 7 Alois Mahdal 2015-08-12 17:10:12 UTC
Verified on ppc64 (only relevant arch, albeit not officially supported.)
