Description of problem:

My calendar is configured in Evolution & Gnome Agenda, but the calendar widget in Gnome-shell doesn't display events

That was an issue of a version bump in evolution-data-server, fixed by https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-shell/commit?id=444fa2e0ab4844 in 3.17.90.
