Title: Optimized Cache Filter Converter

Describe the issue:
The paragraph makes the statement "This can only be used in situations where your conversion will not return a null value."

Then in the example 7.5, there are several clauses that do return a null value.  So either the statement is wrong or the example is wrong.

Suggestions for improvement:
Either remove the statement or change the example.
