Description Marian Csontos 2015-08-21 09:37:51 UTC
Adding `lvm.debug` or `lvm.loglevel=N` boot option to increase lvm-daemons verbosity especially during boot would help us with troubleshooting.

Example:
lvmetad logs are too brief.
Modifying systemd units may not be a viable option (during installation)

We need a mechanism to tell daemons to be more verbose.

We already track this feature request for Fedora (bug #1291324). I think it's late for RHEL7 for such changes, so let's keep the Fedora bug for tracking the feature and once we have it in, we can think of using it for RHEL8+.
