Description Gary Case 2015-08-24 21:45:43 UTC
Description of problem:
In Fedora 22, my laptop will occasionally crash when attempting to come back from a locked screen. I do not know if it matters, but I believe I have only seen this problem occur when I am attached to an external (DP) monitor.

The system is a Lenovo T440s with an HP Compaq LA2206x DisplayPort monitor. The system is not in a docking station/port replicator. I have power, DP, USB keyboard and Ethernet plugged into the system directly. I also have a Logitech wireless mouse receiver plugged in.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
I just updated everything to see if that has any effect. I've not seen it happen yet with this package.
gdm-3.16.2-1.fc22.x86_64

How reproducible:
Occasionally. I don't know how to reproduce it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot system connected to external DP monitor
2. Lock screen or allow screen to lock due to inactivity
3. Move mouse or otherwise wake screen

Actual results:
Unlock screen appears briefly, then is replaced by the login screen

Expected results:
Stable unlock screen

Additional info:
When this happens it appears as though I've lost all my open programs, but they're running in the background at least some of the time. I don't know how to get back to them, though. I can't run them again because I get warning messages that Thunderbird etc. are already running and I need to close them before attempting to run them again. Going to the power control and attempting to shut down gives me the warning that other users (my username) are logged in. I've actually gotten the lock screen to crash twice in a row, and the power display said I shouldn't shut down because two other users (my username, listed twice) were logged in.

Could this be a problem with fprintd as mentioned below? I don't use the fingerprint scanner, so I don't care if I have to disable it.
