Description of problem:
I recently purchased an Asunflower Atheros AR5B22 300M Wireless Wifi Bluetooth 4.0 PCI-E Card Desktop Adapter to add wireless and Bluetooth support for my desktop. While the WiFi functionality is fine and I can connect to networks, I cannot seem to use Bluetooth.

The strange thing is that the system seems to be able to find the Bluetooth adapter and see that it's online, as the following log shows…

$ hciconfig -a hci0
hci0: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB
BD Address: DC:85:DE:7C:66:1C ACL MTU: 1022:8 SCO MTU: 183:5

    Link policy: RSWITCH HOLD SNIFF
    Link mode: SLAVE ACCEPT
    Name: 'My Desktop'
    Class: 0x1c0104
Service Classes: Rendering, Capturing, Object Transfer
    Device Class: Computer, Desktop workstation
    HCI Version: 4.1 (0x7) Revision: 0x1102
    LMP Version: 4.0 (0x6) Subversion: 0x1
    Manufacturer: Atheros Communications, Inc. (69)

However, even though the output tells me that Bluetooth is online and discoverable, none of my Bluetooth devices see my computer and my computer doesn't see any Bluetooth devices.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.0-11.fc22

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Bluetooth adapter and reboot.
2. Enable Bluetooth and search for devices (fails to find discoverable devices nor can it be discovered itself).

Actual results:
Unable to pair with any Bluetooth devices.

Expected results:
Be found by other Bluetooth devices and pair with other devices.

Additional info:
If anything else is needed, just let me know.

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2016-07-19 19:17:32 UTC
Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 4 Justin W. Flory (Fedora) 2016-07-19 19:20:08 UTC
Can still confirm this is happening in Fedora 23. Haven't upgraded my desktop to Fedora 24 to test yet.

Comment 5 Fedora End Of Life 2016-11-24 12:24:47 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 23 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 23. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '23'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 23 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.
