Description Joe Julian 2015-09-22 20:54:03 UTC
"gluster volume heal myvol full" succeeds, but doesn't appear to be doing anything. There's no way of telling what shd is doing.

We need a much more transparent status report for shd, something that tells what it's doing, what's left to do, if it's even doing anything.

I don't even know if it has a job queue, or if it does several jobs simultaneously.

Joe,
Did you get a chance to play with gluster volume heal <volname> statistics commands?

Pranith

Comment 2 Joe Julian 2015-10-20 21:04:56 UTC
Is that per-server, or system wide?
Are all shd involved in a full heal?
I see, now, different shd processes in 3.7 for individual volumes. Does this mean I could run a full heal of all my volumes simultaneously?
Shouldn't I be able to "heal all statistics"?

Comment 3 Karthik U S 2018-11-19 09:26:39 UTC
We have an option to see the current status of heal on a volume using the the command "gluster volume heal <volname> info summary". As far as fetching the status of heal on all the volumes in a single command is considered there is no plan to do this in near future. Hence closing this bug. Please feel free to reopen this if you think this needs to be worked on with priority and the "summary" option does not help with this.
