In Plasma panel, certain application icons are shown as a mediaplayer icon instead of their native icon. See screenshot

It's not a media player icon, it's the placeholder icon for apps that don't have (or don't properly set) an icon.
The Breeze icon designers modified it to no longer look like a media player in the latest release.
