Description Joachim Frieben 2015-10-24 14:16:09 UTC
Description of problem:
For current Fedora 23, X locks up frequently after switching back from a virtual console to X or after logging out from a GNOME session if a switch to a virtual console and back had been performed. This happens on a Lenovo ThinkPad T400 with a discrete AMD RV620 graphics engine using an external monitor attached to a docking station.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-drv-ati-7.6.0-0.4.20150729git5510cd6.fc23

How reproducible:
Regularly

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in and out a few times from GNOME and switch to a virtual console and back in between or switch to a virtual console and back.

Actual results:
Screen shows the virtual console superimposed by a frozen mouse pointer without any reaction to mouse or keyboard events.

Expected results:
Graphical login screen or graphical user session is restored.
