back port of endian patch none

Description Mark Hatle 2004-07-12 23:15:31 UTC
Description of problem:
If the RPM database was created on the opposite endian (compared to native) a number of
components are unreadable.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
All < rpm development HEAD

How reproducible:
Create a DB on a big endian system. Copy to little endian, run rpm -qf '[:xml:]' compare
the output on both. It's different.

Additional info:

The patch currently located in the rpm CVS head works properly.
