Description Jay Kulpinski 2000-06-21 12:25:39 UTC
The autorun program's polling causes cdrecord to fail, resulting
in destroyed CD-R media. This is on a SCSI drive. Autorun also
seems to cause noticeable system delays when polling the drive
with no CD in it; is the SCSI bus tied up while the drive attempts
to read a CD?

Drive information from dmesg:

Vendor: YAMAHA Model: CRW4416S Rev: 1.0g
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Comment 1 Harald Hoyer 2000-06-21 12:45:02 UTC
Solution: Don't start autorun or stop it before burning CDROMs.
Delays are kernel and not autoruns fault.
