could you please start alsamixer and aumix to adjust the volume. if it does not work, please try to reset your sound seting in kcontrol->Sound & Multimedia->Sound System-> Default button. Perhaps you should try with "select the audio device -> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture". I restarted Alsa, and checked all the levels everything appears normal. After a reboot, and then loading Gnome sounds works just fine. If I boot into KDE all I get are really quiet pops from my speakers. KDE resets volume to zero on startup, see bug 136543 The exact same system seems to work just fine (audio wise) with FC3. I have no idea what changed, but now I am able to get audio again. Fedora Core 2 is now maintained by the Fedora Legacy project for security updates only. If this problem is a security issue, please reopen and reassign to the Fedora Legacy product. If it is not a security issue and hasn't been resolved in the current FC3 updates or in the FC4 test release, reopen and change the version to match. Since it seems to work fine with FC3 and FC2 is not supported even by Fedora Legacy, closing. |
