Doc Text:
An integer overflow flaw, leading to a heap-based buffer overflow, was found in the way LibreOffice processed certain Microsoft Word .doc files. By tricking a user into opening a specially crafted Microsoft Word .doc document, an attacker could possibly use this flaw to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user opening the file.

Description Adam Mariš 2015-11-06 13:51:49 UTC
It was found that crafted Microsoft Word DOC file can be used to specify a document buffer that is too small for the amount of data provided for it. Failure to detect the discrepancy allows an attacker to cause denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) and possible execution of arbitrary code.

Products affected are LibreOffice < 4.4.5 and OpenOffice <= 4.1.1.
