Description Matthew Miller 2015-11-06 15:21:41 UTC
Right now, dnf automatic has stdio, email, and motd emitters. It would be nice to have a an emitter that sent output directly to the systemd journal, preferably in a rich way taking advantage of journald fields.

It could be useful.

I don't disagree with the triage as low priority, but just for the record let me expand on why I think this would be useful. The output information from a DNF transaction can be quite complicated. Traditional log formats are restricted to a line of text, with some conventions for splitting that line to provide additional information. However, the journal allows custom, separate fields for each log entry. These could be used to provide a much more helpful record of the transaction.
