Description Scott D. Webster 2000-06-21 19:42:57 UTC
I just noticed that I have no "ping" utility on my Red Hat Linux 6.2
installation. I check another system which is still running 6.1 and found
that ping is a part of the netkit-base package in that version. I checked
my 6.2 CDROM and found that there is no netkit-base*{i386,src}.rpm. I also
checked a number of mirror sites and didn't find it there either.

What has happened to ping? It seems that "inetd" now has its own package,
but I can't figure out where ping went.

Ping is in the iputils package.
