I have also tried the workaround as stated on webpage: http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2004- May/msg00908.html The issue still persists. I am hesitant to wipe the partiotn table info. The various SATA "hardware" RAIDs are not supported by the kernel. Fedora Core 2 has now reached end of life, and no further updates will be provided by Red Hat. The Fedora legacy project will be producing further kernel updates for security problems only. If this bug has not been fixed in the latest Fedora Core 2 update kernel, please try to reproduce it under Fedora Core 3, and reopen if necessary, changing the product version accordingly. Anaconda cannot read the original partion table. I am using a Promise SATA controller with 2 SATA Maxtor drives in a Hardware 2+0 raid. It gives the error: Unable to read the partition table for /dev/sda do you want to erase the partition table? I have a 30GB free partition. I used Partition Magic 8.0 to create the free space. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have WIndows XP Home version loaded on a 2+0 partition (2 maxtor 80GB drives) with 30GB space free 2. Boot off the cdrom and go through the Anaconda installer 3. Say you would like to manually specify the partitons. 4. Immediatly Anaconda cannot read the original Partition Actual Results: Anaconda cannot read the Partiton on /dev/sda. If Anaconda rewrites the table you loose all original data on the drives. Expected Results: be able to specify which partition I would like to install FC2 on. Additional info:
