After updating to libbonobo-2.6.2-1 a reboot of the system will fix the situation and Evolution behaves normal. Posters on the mailing list confirm that a reboot is necessary and a temporary runlevel change from 5 to 3 and back to 5 is not enough. I'd like to confirm this bug with .libbonobo-2.6.2-1 on FC2. The work-around I found was: killall -TERM gconfd-2 killall -TERM bonobo-activation-server killall -TERM evolution-wombat killall -TERM evolution-alarm-notify which may be more than required but it did avoid having to do a reboot. Fedora Core 2 is now maintained by the Fedora Legacy project for security updates only. If this problem is a security issue, please reopen and reassign to the Fedora Legacy product. If it is not a security issue and hasn't been resolved in the current FC3 updates or in the FC4 test release, reopen and change the version to match. It starts with a couple of complaints about unability to register things and then sits there unusable. Other software might be affected too.
