Not reproducible here; -e/--command works fine (even though it is deprecated).
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. When you do 'gnome-terminal -- pwd' the new terminal gets closed as soon as the 'pwd' command has finished. This happens almost instantaneously and you don't see the new terminal. Instead try: $ gnome-terminal -- sh -c "pwd; sleep 10" Or: $ gnome-terminal -- emacs -nw $ gnome-terminal -- vim This message is a reminder that Fedora 31 is nearing its end of life.
