I justed upgraded from RH6.0 to RH6.2.  I found that I could no longer
connect to my ISP.  The solution was to go back to the ppp provide by
RH6.0.  I researched this problem at Deja.com.  There are other folks
having this problem.  This seems to occur when PAP authentication is used. 
The problem did not occur when I connected to work via a chat script.

This problem happenened with both:
  vmlinuz-2.2.14-5.0

Which version of the "initscripts" package do you have installed?  Does adding
"noauth" to your /etc/ppp/options file help?

I have the stock initscripts installed:
   initscripts-5.00-1

Putting 'noauth' into /etc/ppp/options fixes 
the problem for me.  Thanks ...

Please verify this with a newer version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Fedora
Core and reopen it against the new version if it still occurs.

Closing as "not a bug" for now.
