Description of problem:
gdm geometry glitch within supported width and length of 32768

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.18.2

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. execute gnome-terminal --geometry=8000x2400+0+0

Actual results:
Please see the attachment

Expected results:
reports that it cannot fit the app on any monitor/display with such size and displays it either maximized, full screen.

this actually isn't a GDM bug, but a mutter/hardware issue. Certain graphics hardware has 4k or 8k texturing limits. I think mutter was failing to account for that at the time of your report.

You reported, though, on the fedora issue that this is resolved in fedora 25.  We now use a new mutter in rhel7 than we used in fedora 25, though, so I'm going to close this out.
