Vulnerability in the MySQL Server component of Oracle MySQL (subcomponent: Server: Optimizer). Supported versions that are affected are 5.5.31 and earlier and 5.6.11 and earlier. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows successful authenticated network attacks via multiple protocols. Successful attack of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server.

Oracle CPU indicates this issue was fixed in MySQL 5.5.32 and 5.6.12.  MariaDB upstream indicates this issue was fixed in 5.5.32 and 10.0.4.  Therefore, the following packages as shipped in Red Hat products were never affected:

- mariadb in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
- mysql55-mysql in Red Hat Software Collections
